Green Screening at the Book Fair

Cane Creek Middle School students are being royally treated at the semi-annual book fair today. Students enter through castle doors,

... then explore all that is offered for sale. Many are enjoying the chance to have their pictures taken with a media center iPad and GreenScreen technology.

Teachers and students alike are feeling the excitement of celebrating reading with a Medieval flair. Great job, Wayne Stone, Renee Handley, and the Cane Creek PTO. Also shown below are students actually reading or sharing after their shopping is done. #communityspaces, #mediacentersrock.

6th Graders Working with Green Screens

6th graders in Mrs. Willis's class at North Windy Ridge are making green screen videos. They have written memoirs and are working to record them with images related to their stories transitioning behind them. The future of these videos - a living memoir wall. Each student will have an image related to their memoir hanging on the classroom wall and with the help of Augmented Reality in the form of Aurasma the images, when scanned with a smart device, will come to life with the students' green screen videos.
Mrs. Willis plans to have them ready and on display for parents at the NWR open house. Way to go!

Tabletop Green Screen in Miniature at ISTE

Several Buncombe County employees travelled to Atlanta in June for the International Society for Technology in Education Conference. Learning was pervasive and exciting for all of us. While there, Conni Mulligan, Digital Learning Facilitator, presented in the digital storytelling playground. Her expertise in puppetry and story telling created a perfect springboard for her presentation on ‘Tabletop Greenscreen in Miniature”. Conni is an expert on improvisation and innovation. She is pictured here while presenting. Congrats, Conni!

Your digital learning facilitator can help you with using Green Screen on the iPad.
